1. Taking shape association

Taking Shape Association is run by local hero Kevin Stuart. After realising the East London neighbourhood that he grew up in was lacking in positive role models, he thought about the positive effect that martial arts had on him as a young man and quit his city job to dedicate his life to training Kung Fu to the young and old of Hackney.

2. Barge East

Barge is a restaurant aboard De Hoop, an historic 118-year-old Dutch Tjalk, lovingly restored using reclaimed materials and sailed on an epic journey across the North Sea from Holland to it’s Sweetwater mooring at Hackney Wick.

3. Hackney Herbal.

An initiative set up by Nat Mady to teach the community near and far about the properties of plants foragable in the green spaces around Hackney and other urban areas.
